EATING THE HEALTHY WAY



What age range is red meat and white meat recommended for? Based on the webinar recently concluded, experts have this to say about red meat: kids ranging from age 3 to teenage years and young adult years will benefit more from red meat. Kids need a high level of protein for growth and proper functioning of body Metabolism.



White meat is suited for all ages but best suited for adult because it is very low in cholesterol and Saturated fat most especially when the skin is removed.

To get the best of white meat e.g Turkey and chicken etc. effort should be made to get

rid of the skin, when this is done, it serves as an ideal meal for toddlers and aged parents.

 

Frequent consumption of fish rich in omega 3 fatty acids can help combat the following sicknesses: Cancer of oral cavity, oesophagus, breast, ovary and prostate. It equally prevent depression,
asthma  in children, Diabetes etc. Pregnant women as a rule should consider or make  the eating
of fish a priority not an option. Breastfed babies of mothers who eat fish have better eyesight, perhaps due to the omega 3 fatty acids transmitted in breast milk.
Note: Pregnant Mothers adhering to this instruction should ensure that six months exclusive breast feeding is observed as this will help the children brain development.
